Somalia has endured decades of turmoil - from clan conflicts and economic instability to political tensions, extreme weather, and widespread poverty - all of which disproportionately impacting its most vulnerable: orphans, displaced families, and communities in underdeveloped regions. At the Mogadishu Education and Relief Corporation (MERC), we are dedicated to addressing these hardships by providing critical support and sustainable infrastructure, empowering Somalis to rebuild and thrive.

Our mission is twofold:

1. We seek to strengthen schools, train educators, and partner with local leaders to ensure resources reach classrooms, with a focus on orphans and children in underserved areas. 

2. We seek to deliver lifesaving assistance to those in dire need while creating pathways to long-term stability.

By investing in communities rather than short-term fixes, we wish to foster a future where Somalis no longer struggle to meet basic needs but instead harness their collective strength to prosper. Our vision is a Somalia defined not by its past, but by its people’s unity and capacity to rise.

We envision a greater, united Somalia—a nation where the needs of its people are met and where the education system nurtures the leaders and citizens necessary for the country's future prosperity. At MERC, we are committed to bringing meaningful change to Somalia through a variety of impactful projects. These include improving school infrastructure such as: upgrading classrooms, providing new furniture, offering teacher support, and establishing state-of-the-art computer labs.

Each project will be accompanied by thorough evaluations to assess its effectiveness and determine the necessary steps for further collaboration with local and federal governments. This ensures that our efforts are both sustainable and aligned with Somalia's broader educational and relief goals.
